Raising Livestock the Way God Intended
The Decision to Raise Bison
Whitley Bottom Bison started as a dream. This land has been in our family for 100 plus years in Washington Texas/ I was living in Arizona and I started eating bison in a bid to be healthy when it suddenly hit me that I wanted to go back home and start a ranch raising bison, something I had NEVER done before!
After working to get our ranch ready we had our first 6 bison delivered in 2017. At this time I just wanted to preserve the bison, raising for meat came later.
I call myself a first generation rancher as no-one in our family has ranched for 2 or 3 generations, but it is in my blood and it feels like coming home.
My father was very sick, in a nursing home, and being told he would never walk again. We prayed he would get better and slowly he did to the point he was running the ranch EVERY SINGLE DAY, on his feet and working hard. I truly believe God had a plan for him and for us and that was raising Bison
